Kaito staking
KAITO holders receive sKAITO when staking through Kaito, which describes participation and extra rewards as the purpose of its staking offering. Returning to withdrawable KAITO involves unstaking, followed by a seven-day wait before withdrawal.
KAITO and sKAITO
- KAITO
- The token supplied when staking and the token identified for withdrawal after unstaking.
- sKAITO
- The token received for KAITO staked on Base. Any staking rewards accrue automatically in the staking contract and are reflected in sKAITO's value in KAITO, without a separate reward claim.
The KAITO amount supplied and the sKAITO amount received are separate quantities with different units. Read both amounts with their token labels intact; the names alone do not establish a one-for-one conversion rate.
Unstaking and Withdrawal
The seven-day period runs after unstaking. Time spent holding KAITO or sKAITO beforehand does not count toward that withdrawal wait.
- Unstake
- The operation after which the seven-day withdrawal waiting period applies.
- Withdraw
- The separate action for withdrawing KAITO after that waiting period.
The end of the wait makes KAITO available for withdrawal. A completed withdrawal and receipt in a wallet remain separate from reaching that time threshold. The seven-day rule concerns withdrawal timing and does not specify reward amounts. Any staking rewards come from liquidity incentives; Kaito directs holders to the staking portal for the latest APR.
Remaining Wait After 58 Hours
Suppose, hypothetically, that unstaking took place 58 hours ago. The seven-day waiting period equals 168 hours, so
168 - 58 = 110
hours remain before the KAITO becomes withdrawable under that rule.
The remaining wait is four days and 14 hours. Each additional hour that passes reduces that remainder by one hour until the waiting period ends. Withdrawal is the next separate action.
